The mold industry was added to the Profile Mac factory in 1993, and the company now has decades of experience in this field. It can manufacture both single-cavity and multi-cavity molds, with a production capacity for molds of all sizes, from 150 mm × 150 mm up to 2 meters (2,000 × 700 mm). The mold shop has a large group of machines: 3 CNC milling machines, 2 conventional milling machines, 2 CNC spark-EDM machines, 2 CNC wire-cut machines, 2 lathes, 1 grinding machine, 1 drill EDM, 2 saws, 2 drills and a sandblasting unit. It also has laser marking, laser welding and argon welding equipment.
A new CNC wire-cut machine with a 800×1200 mm capacity was added in 2024 to strengthen precision work on larger mold parts. The designs are executed on the latest Italian and Japanese equipment. The steel used is of Buhler and ASSAB types, and the materials are internationally qualified and conform to specifications, together with Italian and German accessories. Molds are made with both cold runner and hot runner techniques, so the right system can be chosen for each product.
To date, more than 1,000 injection and extrusion molds have been manufactured in PLAST MAC. A dedicated spare parts warehouse inside the mold workshop keeps the critical parts needed during manufacturing, which reduces waiting time. The result is a complete mold-making capability under one roof, serving the company's own injection and extrusion lines and outside customers, with a guarantee of one year or 100,000 injections.
